What made it worse was as well as being friendly with mo, the Mitty clan and Telford clan are related too! Yeah the way my birthday fell i had to play a year up from my school year, always was the wee tricky lad and i played with all them boys big Chris Young too. Gozza never made our team but he went and played for the Ballymena League side i think, there games ran in the afternoon so he played for another side iirc |

I him and Leroy ,Mark Crawford and that left the Blues and played for Carniny cos it wasnt as strict so they said,Kenny whitbread was gonna sign me but i was 2days to old but he let me go down on the bus lol.Rem Celtic Boys and Carmoney colts being the best but loads of good teams down there.I used to run about way Leroy Gozza and that for yrs.I him and the wife died not long after they moved over and got married in England.Big Chris Young was a smashing big player then knee went,your fella Matt was some keeper for Blues as well think he played in the milk cup.His Da used to video every game then run him threw his mistakes after.He was average 1st yr,see come 5th year the man was slim and a small keeper rem him doing nets for a team Star Olmpic under 16s in bmena lge.Dont think he stuck at it.Seen him in Imma doing circuits a few times.Some good players back then just never kept at it Leroy was another 1

He got in the schoolboy side the following year after the Milk cup went on to play a few first team games for Ballymena but totally lost interest in football, still plays the odd game for his work. Typical Mitty story here, him and Jay Stevens are cousins, at Jays wedding Matt was there, right at the end of the night, completely blocked, I was talking outside to an old guy who was also at the wedding and started talking about football, i ended up slabbering about how Matt Kerr was a waste of talent, etc etc, out walks Matt over to me and this older guy, so I obviously shut up, Matt comes over and says to the guy, right dad time we went home  Anyway Matt was a far better keeper IMO than Richard McKinney, watched him alot over in Manchester when we were under 12's and think he was u'14's and he was unbelievable. |

Tbf McKinney really excelled when he hit 17/18, he was a couple of years older than me and one older than Matt but i can remember him being absolutely outstanding for the reserves as a kid - i think he ended up signing for Man City and he deserved his move.

Id always thought McKinney got pretty lucky with such a big move so soon, though in saying that I'd only ever seen him
play for the first team for a bit when I was a Bufc diehard, im sure man s**tty done alot more research than me on him :-)
I'm sure he got a decent enough contact for those couple years anyway.
Anybody know what ever happened to him?

Crazy Dave lol .We used to nick his Nukey brown ale and rolling tobacco when i stayed at Gozza's early high school yrs.He used to slide down the bars when singing folk grabbing there drink like fook when he got the mic.Havent seen him as ages,rem he had the whole jungle book tatto'd on his back.Back then it was daggers mum dad etc not a whole back job.Now every wee dude on backbook has the tits out plastered in em.Rem McKinney to forgot clean all about him aswell.Brill keeper :-)

He ended up going to Walsall i think they went down the leagues, playing non league the last i heard in England.

He was at Southampton on trials but didnt get a pro contract .He did at Blackpool though he was late for the Barbie cos junior has no sky and he wanted to see his old team go up.Trust me after 3 beer he tells me the gd old days lol.I tell him a few spoofs myself right enough :-)
