Who's everyone fancy? Should maybe be on Gambling Section but I see BetVictor offering money back if Spain win the tournament. Dont know the draw but a bet on Germany/Holland or both maybe worthwhile with the prospect of cashback if the Spanish win it again. By the way, if Hooper gets called up to the England squad will all you Celtic supporters be cheering on England?

Hooper is brilliant and i think he will do well in England but i cannot see him being included, they will go with the tried and tested. Crouch, Defoe etc.

Has he? How many trophies has he won? As in Goalscoring record, where did i mention trophy's? You never. I'm merely pointing out that Crouch, Defoe, Bent & many, many more haven't worked & therefore failed. Truth be told no matter what 11 they come up with it won't be good enough. English/British football needs ripped out at grassroots level & a complete overhaul done to give future generations a chance. The media are as much to blame as anyone for this, they need to realise their limitations. For such a small country they do quite well but the media push managers into playing a fantasy style when it's not playing to their strengths. The European sides are light years ahead in terms of technical ability & if England played the sort of physical, in your face style of say Chelsea that is more suited to their players results would be better.

Maccers i think your point in general is wrong. So if a player has't won anything for his country he is a failure?
Been some amazing footballers who have never won anything at International level.

The change in rules meant he could pull in players from other parts of the UK. George Best was considered but dismissed on his lack of trophies...

Maccers i think your point in general is wrong. So if a player has't won anything for his country he is a failure? Been some amazing footballers who have never won anything at International level. Not necessarily but there are people who would say that. Imo Messi is the greatest player of all time. I've saw video of all the greats & imo he's ahead of them. So many of the greats from older generations looked fitter, stronger than their opponents. Nowadays footballers have never been fitter & messi makes them look silly. Generally the argument i'm met with is he hasn't won a world cup so pele & maradona are better. Truth be told i was winding you up with the "what's he won" comment. Your right, Crouch does have a good record at International level. Somewhere close to 1 in 2 i think. I'd take crouch ahead of carroll but wouldn't have defoe anywhere near the squad. Overall the main point is England won't do much at the Euros as they are not good enough. You look at their squad, guys like terry, cole, lampard, gerrard, rooney, parker, barry. Those guys will all run their balls off & nobody at the Euros will work harder than any of them but technically? Nowhere near good enough. Those guys are all good at what they do but international football these days is more & more about retaining possession & those players are all about power, strength etc yet they'll be forced to try to play like barcelona. Only chance they have is the appointment of Hodgeson as coach which IMO was a great choice. At Fulham & WBA he took a limited team to their peak & if he takes that route with England he will do well but I predict the media pressure will have him playing these top teams at their own game & an early exit.

England will be lucky to make it through their group. They don't have the mentality to win it. The winner will be between Spain, holland and Germany, no one else!
Players that will light up the tourney will be llorente, van persie and robben.
Young players to shine if they get starting will be munain, de Jong and afellay.

Why does Micah Richards not get in England squads?! Why does Stewart Downing play professional football? Absolute joke that he is in. Adam Johnson should have been included. Also Henderson on standby in front of Carrick is a disgrace.

England may hope and pray nothing happened to Joe hart. Back up keepers Green and Ruddy. Even better, their keeper on standby is a lad whos been on loan at Cheltenham this season.
